The City of Milton’s Department of Public Works and the Cabell County Commission’s Office of Planning and Permits in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), hereby give notice of the City’s and County’s intents to revise the flood hazard information, generally located between Interstate Highway 64 and James River Turnpike Road. Specifically, the flood hazard information will be revised along Mud River, Indian Fork, Dry Creek, Johns Branch, Lower Creek, McComas Branch, Mill Creek, Saunders Creek and Kilgore Creek from a point approximately 8,400 feet downstream of the Interstate 64 crossing (Mile Point 25.3) to a point approximately 100 feet upstream of the James River Turnpike Bridge (WV Route 25).


As a result of the revision, the floodway will widen and narrow, the 1- percent-annual-chance water-surface elevations shall increase, decrease and be established, and the 1-percent-annual-chance-floodplain will widen and narrow within the area of revision.


Maps and detailed analysis of the revision can be reviewed at the Milton City Hall at 1139 Smith Street in Milton, WV.
